President of Ukraine and UN Secretary-General coordinated efforts for the liberation of all Ukrainians illegally retained in Russia
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a phone conversation with Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon.
The Head of State urged to enhance pressure on Russia in order to restore justice and liberate Nadiya Savchenko.
The President called the “court process” in Russian Donetsk a show trial. “Ukraine will never recognize this decision,” Petro Poroshenko said.
The parties coordinated efforts to liberate all Ukrainians illegally retained in Russia.
The Head of State emphasized that under item 6 of the Minsk agreements, Russia must release all political prisoners illegally retained on its territory.
Petro Poroshenko and Ban Ki-moon underlined the necessity of political and diplomatic settlement of the situation in Donbas on the basis of the Minsk agreements and agreed to meet the following week in the course of the visit of the Ukrainian President to Washington.
